For Immediate Release LARAMIE – Biodiversity Conservation Alliance today announced its Second Annual Red Desert Photo Show and Contest, to be held at Coal Creek Coffee in Downtown Laramie on Friday, September 2nd and will run through Saturday, September 3rd. Starting immediately, photographers of all ages and abilities are encouraged to enter their favorite Red Desert photographs in the contest. Photos will be grouped into Professional and Amateur Divisions, and into the “Flora and Fauna” and “Landscapes” categories. Entries will be judged by Mike Stoesz of Rainbow Photography. Entries should be at least 8x10” in size and framed (matting recommended but optional). There is a cost of $5 per entry (free for photographers under 18 years old), and prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place winners in each category and division. All entries must be delivered to the BCA office at 215 South 3rd Suite 114, Laramie, WY 82070 by September 1st. Photographers will be encouraged to offer their works for sale at the Photo Show, with sale proceeds split between the artist and BCA’s Red Desert protection campaign. “We hope this show will call attention to the beauty of the Red Desert, which is one of America’s most threatened landscapes and a current target of unprecedented drilling pressure,” said Erik Molvar, wildlife biologist with Biodiversity Conservation Alliance. Last year’s Red Desert Photo Show drew photographers from throughout the region. The winners of Last Year’s Red Desert Photo Show can be viewed at www.voiceforthewild.org.
