List of Trips

Each year, the Wyoming Chapter of the Sierra Club organizes outings guided by members of many Wyoming conservation organizations such as the Wyoming Outdoor Council, Biodiversity Associates, Sheridan Area Resource Council and our own members. The Outings are open to the public and take outdoor enthusiasts to some of Wyoming's wild and unique places. The Chapter has a new outings organizer this year, Laurel McCoul, whom we thank profusely for organizing these amazing trips. We also thank all the Outings Leaders whose knowledge of their favorite places will lead us all to love and hopefully protect the area's spectacular wild qualities.

This year the Chapter is offering twenty outings throughout the summer season. Many of the outings will be going to some of Wyoming's special wild forest and desert areas that may deserve further protection. Some areas are under threat from industrial development or damage from excessive all-terrain vehicle use, and some areas should be proposed for wilderness designation by the managing agencies, but are not. Outings to these special areas can provide citizens with a unique personal experience and outlook, in order to make informed decisions on protecting the future of wilderness in Wyoming.

Earlier registration is recommended, as trips fill fast. One must register for each trip confirming your participation one week in advance by contacting the trip leader. Other trips may be offered and some may have to be cancelled or changed - so be sure to contact the trip leader. Trips are free unless otherwise noted. If you would like to be alerted to future offerings, more information or would like help inventory wild forest areas this summer to ensure protection of a wild national forest area, contact the Wyoming Chapter at one of the numbers above.
