Biodiversity Conservation Alliance encourages its members to attend any of the Wyoming Conversations put on in the next week by the Wyoming Council for the Humanities. Please come speak out to improve conservation efforts and responsible, sustainable development in our great state! Below is an invitation from Victoria Forth Sherry of the WCH. The conversation will focus on how Wyoming should determine the balance between economic growth and the preservation of its history, open space and wildlife. Participants will consider the aspects of the natural and built environment that make their community unique, then discuss priorities for preserving those features in light of changes such as the expansion of second homes and “rural sprawl,” the razing of historic buildings or the impact of energy development on the landscape. Wyoming Public Radio will introduce the topic with a special broadcast on Wednesday, April 20, at 6:30 p.m. The show features interviews with Mary Humstone, a rural preservation specialist at the University of Wyoming, and Dave Reetz, President of the Powell Valley Economic Development Alliance. Locations and moderators for the April 21 conversations are as follows:
Please forward this announcement to anyone you know who may be interested in attending. Thanks! Victoria Foth Sherry |
