BIODIVERSITY CONSERVATION ALLIANCE BOARD AND OFFICERS
 

The BCA board is volunteer (unpaid) and meets quarterly.

Perry WechslerPerry Wechsler, BCA board president, is a longtime Laramie activist and original member of BCA.  Perry is a Senior Atmospheric Scientist at the University of Wyoming and manages the Research Engineering and Technical Support Group for the department of Engineering.  Perry holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, both from the University of Wyoming.  Perry’s studies are widely published and he holds a hearing aid patent.

Jeff KesslerJeff Kessler is a key figure and founder of BCA, having played a central role since its inception in 1988.  Jeff retired from his position as Executive Director and joined the board in 2005.  Jeff holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wyoming; he works as a mechanical engineer for the University of Utah.
 
Chip RawlinsChip Rawlins is an outdoor field scientist, author, and former employee of the Bridger-Teton National Forest; Chip joined the BCA board in 2006 after serving on the boards of Wyoming Outdoor Council and Greater Yellowstone Coalition.  Chip was educated at Utah State where he earned his BS and MS in American Studies, and Stanford, where he was Wallace Stegner Fellow for 1985-86.  In 1989, he received the U. S. Forest Service Primitive Skills Award for monitoring acid deposition in the Bridger Wilderness and helped do a GIS survey of Knifepoint Glacier to find its rate of melting.

Alyssa WechslerAlyssa Wechsler, the youngest member of the board at 23, co-founded Students for Sustainability at the University of Wyoming.  Alyssa holds a BS in Zoology and Physiology/Environment and Natural Resources with numerous awards and accolades, and is currently a Marshall Scholar at Oxford.

Jay LillegravenJason A. Lillegraven is an American paleobiologist and a structural geologist who served as Program Director and Proposal-review Panelist for the National Science Foundation, Associate Dean for the University of Wyoming’s College of Arts and Sciences, and President and Honorary Member for the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology.  Jason holds a BA in Biology from Long Beach State College, a Masters degree in Paleontology from South Dakota School of Mines and a PhD in Zoology from the University of Kansas.

Joyce Jansa CorcoranJoyce Jansa Corcoran, former Mayor of Lander, Wyoming, is a Learning Center Instructor at Western Wyoming Community College and a Rock Springs City Councilor.  Joyce is Vice Chair of the Wyoming Association of Churches, and serves on the boards of Rock Springs Kiwanis Club, Wyoming Senior Services, and the Sweetwater County Democratic Party Central Committee.  Joyce holds a BS in Education and an MA in Post-Secondary and Adult Education.
