YOUR VOICE is needed in the Thunder Basin National Grassland's Travel Management Plan.
Please tell the Forest Service:
Protect Thunder Basin Wildlife.
- Close dead-end motorized routes (spurs) and stop all prairie dog shooting in black-footed ferret reintroduction areas;
- Update locations of sage grouse leks (breeding grounds) and prohibit motorized travel seasonally around them;
- Protect elk and mule deer from excessive motorized recreation disturbances; and
- Protect plants and animals listed as Regional Forester Sensitive, Endangered or Threatened, or Species of Special Concern.
Stop Chronic Damage, Vandalism and Trespass.
- Designate Dull Center Land Exchange (south of Rothleutner Ranch) and Cheyenne River bottoms as Walk-In Areas;
- Post Seasonal Closures to motorized recreation along Cheyenne River Bottoms to Woody Creek;
- Close motorized trails resulting in trespass, vandalism, and land destruction on public or private property;
- Increase monitoring in Red Hills Research Area during coyote hunting season; and
- Close motorized routes receiving little use unless they serve to reduce wildlife impacts or user conflicts.
