YOUR VOICE is needed in the Thunder Basin National Grassland's Travel Management Plan.

Please tell the Forest Service:

Protect Thunder Basin Wildlife.

  • Close dead-end motorized routes (spurs) and stop all prairie dog shooting in black-footed ferret reintroduction areas;
  • Update locations of sage grouse leks (breeding grounds) and prohibit motorized travel seasonally around them;
  • Protect elk and mule deer from excessive motorized recreation disturbances; and
  • Protect plants and animals listed as Regional Forester Sensitive, Endangered or Threatened, or Species of Special Concern.

Stop Chronic Damage, Vandalism and Trespass.

  • Designate Dull Center Land Exchange (south of Rothleutner Ranch) and Cheyenne River bottoms as Walk-In Areas;
  • Post Seasonal Closures to motorized recreation along Cheyenne River Bottoms to Woody Creek;
  • Close motorized trails resulting in trespass, vandalism, and land destruction on public or private property;
  • Increase monitoring in Red Hills Research Area during coyote hunting season; and
  • Close motorized routes receiving little use unless they serve to reduce wildlife impacts or user conflicts.
