ACTION ALERT!

A Year of Major Conservation Progress,
Brought to You by BCA Supporters Like You!

Thanks to the generous support of our members, Biodiversity Conservation Alliance has been able to achieve some important conservation victories for Wyoming's public lands and wildlife. As you reach for your checkbook this holiday season, consider the conservation change that BCA members were able to fund in 2011:

Landscape

  • Halting gas wells planned for citizens' proposed wilderness lands in the Adobe Town and Wild Cow Creek areas;
  • Winning a lawsuit that returned Endangered Species Act protection to Wyoming populations of the Preble's meadow jumping mouse;
  • Stopping oil shale leasing and development in its tracks through a successful lawsuit settlement in which BCA brokered conservation considerations for Adobe Town and sage grouse core habitats;
  • Launching legal challenges against excessive logging that threatens the survival of forest wildlife in the Black Hills and against a motorcycle trail approved in the Medicine Bow's Middle Fork Roadless Area, which had been designated as Summer Nonmotorized in the Forest Plan;
  • Successfully advocating for nationwide reforms in industrial use through sage grouse plan amendments that will apply new protections nationwide;

These are just a few of the conservation results our members funded over the past year. During a time when support for conservation from foundations is dwindling, financial support from our members is more important than ever!

Please consider making an end-of-the-year contribution to Biodiversity Conservation Alliance supporting our conservation work.

Thanks from all of us at BCA, and have a safe and happy New Year!
