Great News!
Green Rock Picnic Area Spared
Forest Service Cancels Plan for Snowmobile Parking Lot along
Snowy Range Scenic Byway

Snowy Range Snowmobile High Marking
Snowmobile high marking tracks near Medicine Bow Peak
The Forest Service has canned its proposal to build a Green Rock Picnic Area snowmobile parking lot.

Thanks to all that signed BCA's petition and wrote letters opposing the proposed Green Rock Picnic Area Snowmobile parking lot.

Your hundreds of signatures and letters told the Forest Service that a Scenic Byway should NOT include a 10-acre parking lot for snowmobiles.

Your comments to the Forest Service made it clear that out-of-control snowmobiling:

- causes dangerous conditions
- produces soil, water, and air pollution
- degrades wildlife habitat and
-  ruins opportunities to enjoy scenic landscapes in peace and quiet.

Generations of families have enjoyed the scenic, quiet, and peaceful experiences offered by the Snowies year-round. Your voices have helped to protect winter's natural wonders in the Snowies!
